About the game

The trail of terror is an endless runner game set in a haunted house where the player is supposed to run away from the ghost and overcome obstacles that come in the way. 

You have two lives in the game and your goal is to stay in the game for as long as you can to achieve a high score. To stay alive, you have to make sure that you overcome all the obstacles that come in the way, plus successfully run away from the ghost. In the case that you hit an obstacle the first time, you would only lose one life and have a chance to continue playing the game. However, to make sure that you remain alive in the game you need to make sure that you move fast enough so that the ghost can’t catch you plus overcome the obstacles so that you don’t lose your second life.

To move, use either WASD or arrow keys plus the spacebar to jump. To pause, press the ‘P’ key and to resume press ‘R’.


Design Objective

This is a single player horror game  created by a group of Carleton University students as a final project for Introduction to Computer Games class.

This game can be played on any desktop platform, such as Windows, Mac and Linux.
